MUNSTER, Ind. – Children of Abraham, an interfaith medical relief charity based in Munster, Ind., was recently awarded the status of an Advanced Special of the United Methodist General Board of Global Ministries, based in New York City.

COA Board President, the Rev. David Schrader, senior pastor of Grace UMC in South Bend, says, “This opens us to outreach beyond the Indiana congregations to the national level, and will be especially beneficial to future fund-raising efforts in Illinois as half of our donated medical supplies come from the Chicago market. I thank all of you for your interest and support over the years.

“When we began this project to support United Methodist hospitals and clinics in Liberia, we had no idea that it would reach the level of supplying over $70 million of medical supplies to free clinics and hospitals in more than 30 countries… None of these projects would have been possible without your support.”

Children of Abraham’s Advanced Special number with the General Board of The United Methodist Church is 3021427. For more information about Children of Abraham and how you and your church can support this medical ministry, visit
