Sierra Leone Bishop John Yambasu visited Indiana and preached at St. Luke’s United Methodist Church on Sunday evening, May 15. Yambasu was interviewed about the church in Sierra Leone by the Rev. Donald Griffith, who with his wife, Marilyn Griffith, leads mission trips to West Africa from St. Luke’s. That weekend, Yambasu also met with the Operation Classroom UM-related outreach ministry to Sierra Leone supporting the work of United Methodist schools and medical facilities in that country. The Indiana Conference through its related Operation Classroom/Operation Doctor ministry at Kissy Hospital in Freetown supports hundreds of UM-related schools in West Africa.
