The United Methodist Church has a goal of building 400 new congregations by 2012, many congregations in the United States are helping with this effort. This Sunday, July 10, throughout the day, go to to hear UM General Board of Global Ministries’ Director of In Mission Together, Patrick Friday, discuss UMC’s commitment to building new congregations, some in parts of the world where United Methodists are going for the first time. Visitors also will hear from the people who are leading the efforts in Russia, Cameroon, Senegal and Latvia. There will be a live chat at 5 p.m. EDT so visitors to the site can ask questions or chat throughout the day with others who are interested in this project. Church Planting Worldwide is sponsored by GBGM and supported by dollars raised through The Advance.
