The Communication Coordinator for United Methodist Women of Indiana regrets inaccuracy in previous reporting of study leaders. Stacia Carwell will not teach Joy to the World. Rev. Bob Epps will teach Joy to the World, not Haiti as previously reported through e-VENTS and in the March Together.

Each year, the School of Christian Mission offers three mission studies. Each participant takes the Spiritual Growth study and chooses one other mission study – either the geographical study or the social issue study. The study leaders are always well-informed and often have personal experiences relevant to the studies; this year’s are:

  • Spiritual Growth Study: Coming Out on the Side of Grace: Forgiveness and Reconciliation
    • Rev. Dr. David V.W. Owen
  • Geographic Study: Haiti
    • Rev. John Davis, Nancy Myers, Tamara Kreigh, Marva Usher-Kerr, Lorelei VerLee
  • Social Issue Study: Joy to the World: Mission in the Age of Global Christianity
    • Sandra Ruby, Rev. Fernando Siaba, Rev. Bob Epps

A promotional flyer is available at: http://www.gbgm-umc.org/indumw/2011SOCMFlyer.pdf. The week-day event, July 26-29, qualifies as Continuing Education credit for pastors. The Sampler Day is July 30.
