Congolese pastor and District Superintendent Joseph Mulongo Ndala plans to ride a tandem bicycle with the Rev. Bob Walters for more than 1,000 miles during September to visit churches across Indiana.

At press time, Ndala was still awaiting the arrival of his new passport from Kinshasa. Walters planned to begin the ride in New Harmony Aug. 1 and Mulongo plans to join him as soon as he arrives in Indiana.

The two are riding to mirror their ride in eastern Congo earlier this year (see July-August issue) visiting remote districts of the North Katanga Conference. They want to make their report face-to-face with Hoosier United Methodists, who have been supporting the work of pastors and other church leaders as the villages of eastern Congo recover from a horrific war.

The route can be found on Readers can follow the team on Friendly Planet Missiology’s page. Colin and Heather Cress at Folsom Memorial United Methodist Church in Worthington are serving as ride managers and can be contacted at 812-875-3301.
