United Methodist Women of Indiana’s fall celebration and Annual Meeting are being planned to draw younger women and children and appeal to its more seasoned membership. The event set for Friday and Saturday, Oct. 8 and 9, at Castleton United Methodist Church in Indianapolis hopes to attract children and youth of all ages.
The Indiana women are intent on educating its future membership on the United Methodist Women’s PURPOSE of knowing God, being supportive, and being in mission.
The event begins on Friday, Oct. 8, with an intergenerational evening planned around children and youth, grandmothers, mothers and others. Leaders promise participants will enjoy fellowship and a variety of interactive games and pizza. The open-ended time frame of 6:30 to 9 p.m. ET encourages participants to come and go as desired.
The intergenerational event continues Saturday, Oct. 9. The day includes election and installation of 2011 conference officers, Communion, focus groups and packaging mission items that participants are asked to bring. Local units, mission committees, and youth groups are encouraged to begin collecting items for birthing kits, health kits and layette kits. Complete lists for all kit types are found in the publicity brochure online here.
Plan now to be a part of this time of mission focus while enjoying folks of all ages from across Indiana.
