Sponsored by Interfaith Hunger Initiative
INDIANAPOLIS – The Dalai Lama will give a public talk at Conseco Fieldhouse in Indianapolis on Friday, May 14 at 9:30 a.m. The event will be hosted by the Interfaith Hunger Initiative (IHI) of Indianapolis, the Tibetan Mongolian Buddhist Cultural Center of Bloomington and the Indiana Buddhist Center.
The title of his talk, “Facing Challenges with Compassion and Wisdom,” reflects the core mission of these groups as well as speaking directly to issues central to today’s world, especially around the issue of hunger.
Formed in Indianapolis in 2008, the Interfaith Hunger Initiative is comprised of Indianapolis-area congregations of many faiths, including many United Methodist congregations. They come together to help end hunger for children and families by changing food-access systems and creating opportunities to feed more people together than they could alone. Information about IHI can be found at www.interfaithhungerinitiative.org.
Tickets for the Indianapolis event are available at the Conseco box office or at area Ticketmaster locations. General admission tickets are $25; student tickets are $15. Additional information may be obtained at consecofieldhouse.com. Proceeds will go to IHI.
