LEBANON, Ind. – Members of the Indiana United Methodist Children’s Home Board of Trustees announced July 27 that they accepted the resignation of Gary J. Davis as executive director and chief operating officer of the United Methodist-related residence home for children and youth.
Board members expressed their best wishes for Davis’ personal and professional life.
The home’s board also announced the immediate appointment of Michael Waggoner, as the interim executive director and chief operating officer of the home as board members undertake a search for a new executive director and chief operating officer. Waggoner has worked at the home for several years, most recently as the home’s chief operating officer.
The Rev. David Byrum of Valparaiso, chairperson of the home’s board of trustees, said, “The board has every confidence that, under Waggoner’s interim leadership, the home will maintain and build on its excellent care for and treatment of the children and youth entrusted to us.”
