FISHERS, Ind. - The United Methodist Council of Bishops has asked that every conference have a "Listening/Learning" Event to give them feedback for the formulation of a revised In Defense of Creation: the Nuclear Crisis and a Just Peace document. There will be three issues considered in this new document: Nuclear armaments/militarization, Poverty and Environmental degradation/climate change.
The Indiana Conference will hold its event on May 9 from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m., at Fishers United Methodist Church, 9690 East 116th Street in Fishers. The only cost for registration is for lunch. There will be a panel of three leaders who will help us dialogue about the three interconnected issues.
Registration details will be forthcoming, but all clergy and laypeople of the Indiana Conference are encouraged to put this date on their calendar. For more information contact Dennis Shock, task force coordinator, by e-mail at: email@example.com.
