St. Mark's United Methodist Church in Carmel, Ind., recently hosted a drive of gently worn shoes for Soles4Souls Inc., a non-profit organization that gives away shoes to the hurting worldwide.

According to Soles4Souls Inc., Americans have 1.5 billion pairs of unworn shoes lying in their closets. The charity can use these shoes to make a difference in the lives of people worldwide.

St. Mark's called upon the community and was fortunate to collect more than 2,500 pairs of shoes for all ages, from flips-flops to tennis shoes, high heels, work boots and more.
