Habitat for Humanity of Greater Indianapolis has commitments from five United Methodist congregations and needs more congregations involved to raise $70,000 for building materials and to recruit 336 volunteers to build a Habitat home. According to Stephen Craig, development manager for Habitat in Indianapolis, $36,500 has been committed with under 50 percent of funds needed to fulfill the goal. These United Methodist churches are committed to the project: Castleton ($7,000 as well as a member who is a home builder who will help organize the trades), Roberts Park ($2,500), Old Bethel ($7,500), Southport ($10,000) and St. Luke's ($10,000).
