The Rev. David V.W. Owen, executive assistant to Bishop Michael Coyner and president of the board of trustees at Franklin UM Community in Franklin, has been selected as The United Methodist Association of Health and Welfare Ministries (UMA) Trustee of the Year for 2009.
The award will be presented at the UMA National Convention to be held in Indianapolis the first week of March 2009. The Celebration of Excellence Dinner is scheduled for March 7 at 5 p.m.
UMA is a national association of United Methodist-related faith-based ministries and professionals actively involved in promoting quality care in a faith-based setting.
Based near Dayton, Ohio, UMA serves more than 400 health and human service organizations and professionals nationwide. These ministries respond to the needs of nearly ten million persons annually.
