The members of Mt. Olive United Methodist Church in Marion invite other congregations to join them in building several homes in a weekend. This past year they built four homes. The number of homes to be built this year depends on the number of volunteers that join in this project.

Participating churches can determine where the houses go. The total amount of the donations received by July 15 will determine the number of houses that can be built in August.

Mt. Olive Church will host Crossroads Missions, will be presenting Help Build Hope, a worship and community building, while constructing a home Aug. 22-23.

Costs are as follows:

  • $1,800 approximate cost of materials per house

  • $1,500 per house cash donation to Habitat for the roof

  • $2,500 event fee will be divided among participating churches

  • Shipping costs are being donated.
