INDIANAPOLIS – Megan Fetter serves as the new Associate Director of Leadership Development – Laity for the Indiana Conference effective January 1.

In this role, Fetter will assist in realizing the vision of Leadership Development by providing leadership and support for the implementation of policies, practices and processes to support the Board of Laity, as well as working collaboratively with The Rev. Dr. Aleze Fulbright, director of leadership development, to fulfill the mission of the Indiana Conference.

Fulbright remarked, “We are excited for Megan to join the Conference staff and we see this as a vital opportunity to begin intentionally identifying ways of discovering, developing and deploying fruitful non-clergy leaders. We are also filled with great hope with Megan’s experience, education and personality and that she will be able to partner with the Board of Laity, as well as Lay Servant Ministry to bear much fruit!”

Fetter is an AmeriCorps VISTA alumnus with diverse experience working with nonprofits, AmeriCorps members, disability inclusion and social justice issues. Previously, she worked for the John H. Boner Community Center as the Director of Neighborhood Engagement. She co-authored the publication “Recipes for Rising Neighborhoods,” which focus on resident-led neighborhood engagement. She is also a 2012-13 Civic Engagement fellow with the Alliance for Strong Families and Communities.

Fetter holds a Bachelor of Science in Sociology and Communications from Spring Arbor University, Spring Arbor, Mich.; Master of Theological Studies from Anderson University, Anderson, Ind.; and Master of Public Affairs in Nonprofit Management from Indiana University Purdue University Indianapolis (IUPUI).

Fetter has lived in Indiana since 2007 and is a native of the Upper Peninsula in Michigan. She and her husband, Andy, live in the Near Eastside community of Indianapolis with their son, Jonah. Both her husband and son have epilepsy, so she has become an advocate for epilepsy awareness. She attends East 10th Street United Methodist Church.
