Greetings! I am richly blessed to be in ministry with each of you here in the Indiana Conference of The United Methodist Church. I come to you from the Carolinas with a variety of experience in communications, marketing, and public relations, but I also have a deep background and love for The United Methodist Church. And I am delighted to serve God and our Church as your communications director. In the coming weeks and months we will be working to connect and tell the stories of the people known as Hoosiers through missions, advocacy, discipleship, leadership development, administration, and the many other avenues for ministry in this expansive conference.
During the first weeks of exploring my new home, in Indiana, I have been fortunate to meet new faces and have deeper conversations about our ministries and the importance of telling our stories through a variety of mediums. These conversations have also sparked my interest in how do we increase the voices that are sharing in the celebration of Good News around Indiana and throughout the world from our local settings? How will we value the importance of communications in our daily work and ministries, as well as how we share in this work of communicating “together”?
The Communications Team will be working to learn more about how to support the Conference and its various arms for ministry and mission as a strategic ministry partner to help lift up new opportunities and news. I am also eager to know each of you and what interests and gifts you may have to help tell the story of our Indiana Conference. Writers, photographers, videographers, graphic artists, and other creatives are welcomed… often our best stories come from you.
In addition to our continued discovery and development phase, we are beginning to review our publications and covet your assistance in exploring how you receive news from the Conference, what news items are relevant, and what you would like to see more or less of. Also, my door and my email box are open so feel free to contact me at email@example.com or 317/564-3242 should you or church need any assistance.
