INDIANAPOLIS – The Africa University Campaign continues to push forward in Indiana as the conference maintains its commitment to providing an endowed chairperson for the Faculty of Agriculture and Natural Resources, as well as scholarships for students at United Methodist related Africa University in Mutare, Zimbabwe. Each local church in the conference has been invited to make a pledge to the campaign to be completed by December 2016.
The Campaign Committee and the United Methodist Foundation of Indiana, Inc., are pleased to report that as of Friday, June 19, 389 churches have committed to support the campaign totaling $1,208,241 pledged of the conference’s $1.6 million goal. The Africa University Development Office located in Nashville, Tenn., will manage and invest all funds raised due to the financial instability of Zimbabwe.
Churches, groups or individuals interested in making a commitment to the Indiana Africa University Campaign should contact their district office for more information or visit the conference website at www.inumc.org/ac for pledge cards. Donations to the campaign may be made online at the same web address.
In an effort to help churches understand and interpret The United Methodist Church’s ministry at Africa University, the Indiana AU Campaign have speakers available to come to local churches and offer presentations about Africa University and the campaign.
