INDIANAPOLIS – Rev. Steve Clouse, director of Church Development, recently announced the selection of Emily Reece, who currently serves at the denomination’s Discipleship Ministries – Path 1, as the new Associate Director of Church Development to begin September 1, 2015.
Along with 13 years of ministry, Reece has served in lay ministry coordination for congregations in Illinois and Indiana, and worked in a variety of corporate and non-profit organizations.
In anticipation of joining the Church Development staff, Reece stated, “I’m excited about the future of church development in Indiana and eager to work closely with this great team! Much of my faith journey has been shaped by growing up as a United Methodist, and I hope my work here will build upon that strong foundation. I look forward to helping Indiana United Methodists reach the people of this state with the message of God’s amazing love and grace.”
Clouse added, “Emily brings a breadth of experience to our Conference and Development team. As a part of her role as Path 1 associate, Emily has spent the last several years studying and interacting with a wide variety of church planters, compiling research on the most current models and best practices in that field of ministry. I am confident that Emily’s abilities as a researcher, writer, presenter and her deep love for the Church will be a great asset to our Conference. I am proud to welcome Emily to our team and introduce her to the Indiana Conference.”
