Romal Tune, author of God’s Graffiti and ordained minister, is a sought-after communicator, strategist and education consultant. He is a cultivator of hope and dignity, moving individuals from setbacks to success. Having overcome the setbacks of his upbringing and the destructive choices of his youth, he has a story to tell – a story of REDEMPTION. This inspiring evening of discovery is sponsored in collaboration with the Sankofa initiative and powered by Exceed.
Tune’s talk and workshop will walk participants through understanding the process of deconstructing and reconstructing who hurting young people believe they can become in the world. Tune will guide us through the process of strategically answering the questions: “Who are inner-city young adults meant to be in the world” and “How can the church help them get there?”
This event will be held from 4 to 9 p.m. (EDT) Wednesday, August 12, and is intentionally being offered to pastors and lay teams from Indiana United Methodist churches that have or are currently engaging urban, multi-cultural communities and churches participating in the Fruitful Congregation Journey; churches involved in the 100 New Points of Light outreach effort; multi-site churches; and new-church plants. Please note that all Indiana Conference leadership, including the Cabinet, Associate District Superintendents, Conference Directors, Associate Conference Directors, Church Development Committee, FCJ leadership, and Board of Laity and Ordained Ministry are welcome to attend.
At Exceed Indiana we take pride in our new conference Advance Special initiative to help fund and find leaders to fulfill our church planting vision. This gathering is one way to cultivate opportunities to discover new leaders who might be called to church planting. We graciously thank you in advance for your partnership and for believing and working with us towards our goal.
The Exceed Advance Special Initiative is a ministry whose purpose is to generate new funding to establish new churches in Indiana. Exceed Indiana will raise $1.5 million to cover the launch of 30 new reproducing faith communities by 2020. New faith communities are the most effective way to reach unreached people.
