Calling all young clergy

This message is for all of the young clergy of The Indiana Area of the United Methodist Church. You are a "young clergy" if you are young in age or young in years of ministry. You are a "young clergy" if you think you are.

I am inviting the young clergy to meet with me for conversation prior to our two Annual Conferences in June. In particular, I want to hear from our young clergy - their thoughts, hopes, dreams and concerns about the recommendation coming to each Annual Conference for a kind of "test vote" on merging to form a new Indiana Conference. Since it will be the young clergy who have to live with whatever plans are made, I want to meet with our young clergy and to hear from them.

So, here are two options, and young clergy are welcome to attend either time:

• Thursday, May 18, 10 a.m. to 12 Noon, at the South Indiana Conference Office in Bloomington

• Thursday, May 25, 9:30 to 11:30 a.m., at St. Luke's UMC in Kokomo (700 East Southway Blvd.)

I look forward to meeting with our young clergy at one of these two gatherings.
