Ford St. UMC, Lapel - Director of Youth Ministry
The Ford Street United Methodist Church, a mid-size, congregation in Lapel, Indiana, is seeking a person to serve in the area of youth ministry, with a small but existing group of teens and tweens. Compensation is included, please inquire at time of application. Responsibilities include: a commitment of 10 hours weekly which must involve, conducting a weekly youth meeting on Sunday Evenings, attending the worship service of the congregation Sunday morning, and teaching Sunday School on Sunday morning as well. It is desired that the applicant be an enthusiastic disciple of Jesus Christ, committed to relationship building and reaching new people with the gospel. This is an area of growing importance for the Ford Street Church and there is strong potential for additional investment in this ministry in the coming years. We are eager to offer other and varied practicum opportunities for ministry students as well, as desired by the applicant.

The internship application for TransFormation- a year-long (July 2016-July 2017) parish internship experience geared toward young adults in college seeking more education and experience before leaping into their call for ministry- is now available. The program calls for young ministry enthusiasts to serve as part-time Parish Interns through a rotation of five different congregations. Interns are required to collaborate and learn under the direct supervision of an Ordained Senior Pastor, and assist in a large portion of the required tasks of a church leader; from pastoral care to outreach and evangelism.
