Otterbein and Centenary UMCs Host Ecumenical Prayer Vigil at Courthouse
On Monday, July 11, Otterbein UMC (Rev. Seth Neckers and Pastoral Intern Erica Ridderman) and Centenary UMC (Rev. Anthony Stone) joined with local clergy and law enforcement officers from Boone County for an ecumenical prayer vigil on the steps of the Boone County Courthouse. More than 125 people gathered for a time of prayer, reflection, and an anointing of law enforcement officers. Attention to issues of justice, racial tension, and reconciliation were also brought forward during this prayer vigil. Those in attendance at the rally included the Boone County Sheriff; the Police Chiefs for communities Lebanon, Whitestown, and Zionsville; and one of the Boone County Superior Court judges.
