I just wanted to share an incredible story. As you may know, Gobin Memorial was the target of vandalism two weeks ago, along with two other area churches. A couple days ago, when felony charges were added to the suspected individual, FOX59 came to do a story. I made clear in the midst of the sensationalized story that our hearts were with the individual and his family, and that we hoped we could reach out in some way. The family saw the news segment and found a way to reach out. And last night I drove to a truck stop to pick up the suspect, Shea, and his brother. Shea apologized and reached for a hug immediately. We had lots of time to talk on the drive back to the police department in Greencastle. We talked about the realities of the coming days and weeks, as well as the future story Shea might have. We prayed together and walked in the police station together. This story is in no way over, but it's too good not to share.
