French Lick man especially blessed by members visit

FRENCH LICK, Ind. – Mt. Lebanon UMC sang “Here I am, Lord” as the Sunday morning offering was being received Feb. 24. Following the offering, each member who responded to a challenge to be sent into the community was given an envelope with a particular assignment, such as send flowers to someone, put five quarters at the vacuum cleaner at the car wash, bring treats to the officers at the police station, say “thank you” to your mail carrier, send a greeting card, visit the nursing home, make dinner for an ill person, tell someone they are a good mother, do something nice for a co-worker or go tell the man at the city dump how much you appreciate what he does. The next Sunday reports came back as to how this assignment went. The most amazing story was from a member who went to thank the man at the dump. He found the man at the dump was depressed. He had had a very bad week. A loved one had died, another was critically ill. The man said to the member: “You will never know how much this meant to me, that someone really cares about what I do and what a time to come and tell me on one of the worst weeks I have had.”
