North Clay County Cluster leads 4-H Fair worship for third year

BRAZIL, Ind. -- The North Clay Cluster in the West District held its annual 4-H worship service at the Clay County Fair this past Sunday, July 14. More than 200 worshippers attended. This marks the third year for this North Clay Cluster event. Cluster leaders were excited to see the Body of Christ coming together in worship. They are hoping this worship service will grow in attendance as they look to fulfill the mission of the United Methodist Church to make disciples for Jesus Christ for the transformation of the world. Laity were more involved compared to previous years and pastors encourage them to take a more active role in leading the cluster. Laity led special music, Scripture reading and singing. Pastor Steve Loft of Mt. Calvary UMC in Brazil delivered the message "The Anatomy of the Body of Christ." An offering was received for a local charity. This year, Ruth Fischer, widow of former United Methodist Pastor John Fischer, accepted $1,076 on behalf of the Clay County Cooperative Benevolence Ministry, a locally funded organization that works with Clay County families in need. North Clay Cluster leaders pray that other clusters would consider a similar event and would appreciate hearing other experiences and how God is working through their clusters. -- Pastor Terry Jeffers, Harmony/Lena UMC
