Plainfield man delivered 127,000 pounds of fresh apples to food pantries during 14 years
Howard Little, 90, of the Plainfield United Methodist Church reported recently to the mission committee of the church that during a14-year period, he has delivered at least 127,000 pounds of fresh apples to food pantries and other agencies which provide food to those in need in an area reaching as far west at Terre Haute and South to Vincent. Much of this has been done at his own expense for purchasing the apples and paying for the gas. His only requirement was help by the recipients in unloading the heavy crates. He also often provided apples for groups planning special events at Christmas time so that each child or person would receive an apple.
