Arlington UMC collects snacks for EMTs and Paramedics

BLOOMINGTON, Ind. – The faith community at Arlington UMC in Bloomington recently provided snacks for the personnel of IU Health Bloomington Hospital Ambulance Service. As chaplain for the service, the pastor at Arlington observed that first responders often go without a meal during their shift. The people at Arlington began providing nutritional snacks that the ambulance workers can eat on the run. As a result of this outreach, an ambulance crew came into the church on a recent Sunday morning. The crew had just come off a “bad run” and asked if they could “just sit in the sanctuary for a few moments.” The community at Arlington is hopeful that this is the first of many contacts, and that a lasting relationship and connection will result with these servants of the Bloomington community that often save lives on an hourly basis, usually without any thanks or appreciation. – Blessings, Pastor Jim Roach
