The Indiana Miracle Offering for Global Health

Now to him who is able to do far more abundantly than all that we ask or think, according to the power at work within us, to him be glory in the church and in Christ Jesus throughout all generations, forever, and ever. Amen.

— Ephesians 4:20 - 21 (ESV)

The Indiana Miracle Offering for Global Health supports the efforts of Imagine No Malaria and the United Methodist Global Aids Fund. In one day, more than 2,000 lives are lost to malaria and HIV/AIDS. Those most susceptible are women and children.

Bishop Julius C. Trimble is calling for the Indiana Miracle Offering for Global Health to be received at the 2017 Annual Conference session (June 8-10) in Indianapolis, IN. Each of our 1,120 congregations are encouraged to begin preparation for this miraculous expression of God's love in action as we raise awareness and funds to impact thousands of lives around our world this year.

Your help can make a world of difference.

Imagine No Malaria

Imagine No Malaria (INM) is helping to make a disease that was eliminated in the United States in the 1950s a thing of the past in Sub-Saharan Africa where Malaria once killed one person every 60 seconds, but has been reduced to one person every two minutes through the work of INM. So there is hope! Imagine No Malaria is part of a global partnership and together with our partners; our generation can beat Malaria once and for all. Through Imagine No Malaria and the predecessor Nothing But Nets campaign we have cut the death rate from this deadly, but preventable and treatable, disease in Sub-Saharan Africa in half.

United Methodist Global AIDS Fund (UMGAF)

The United Methodist Global AIDS Fund (UMGAF) Committee, established at the 2004 General Conference, combats HIV and AIDS through education, advocacy, training, and addressing stigma and discrimination. Through our work we’ve discovered that people simply don’t know enough about the infection. Global Ministries, a member of this interagency committee, awards grants, through the UMGAF Advance, for global projects focused on reaching at risk youth and young adults, and pregnant women and their newborns. Because of these efforts - mostly through denominational partners - more people have access to knowledge, HIV counseling and testing, support, and referral to life-saving drugs.

How you can help make a world of difference:

To provide much-needed support and hope in these areas, we have set a goal that is miraculous, unprecedented, and if accomplished, will impact the lives of many for years to come. It is our hope, with the support of our Extended Cabinet, Conference Council on Finance and Administration, our clergy, laity, and each of our churches that we impact more than 50,000 lives from our Miracle Offering for Global Health, but with a tremendous victory goal of more than 100,000 lives saved. Most people do not realize that, simply, $10 is enough to prevent a child from a Malaria infection or provide education to a mother that will allow her to not pass HIV/AIDS onto her unborn child.
