Retirement celebrations for the Trues set for June 19 at Terre Haute
There will be a Retirement Reception for the Rev. and Mrs. Tom True on Saturday, June 19 from 2 to 4 p.m. at Memorial UMC, 2701 Poplar in Terre Haute. True was superintendent of the former Terre Haute District and most recently associate superintendent of the new West and Southwest Districts.
Fort Wayne church to honor pastor upon his retirement
Please join in honoring Pastor Bill and Donna Farmer by attending the celebration of their ministry on Sunday, June 20 from 2 to 4 p.m., with a Recognition Program at 3 p.m. at Taylor Chapel UMC Family Life Center, 10145 Maysville Road, Fort Wayne, IN 46835. - Participants will hear Dr. Sample’s lectures Monday through Thursday mornings and have 90 minutes every afternoon for small-group conversations with him.

Enright to lead four-night seminar on vital congregations Sept. 13-16 in Indianapolis
What is the culture of your congregation –one of generosity or one of scarcity? How can your congregation be known as a congregation of generosity? The Rev. Bill Enright, Executive Director of The Lake Institute on Faith and Giving, will conduct a four-night seminar for congregations and clergy who want to enhance the vitality of their congregations by becoming generous congregations. The workshop, titled “Creating Congregational Cultures of Generosity,” will be held Sept. 13-16 from 6 to 9 p.m. at the Irvington United Methodist Church, 30 North Audubon Road, Indianapolis, IN 46219. Disciples professor to hold Advent, Christmas, Ephiphany preaching workshop Aug. 17
Advent, Christmas and Epiphany: Lections from the Hebrew Bible for Preaching and Worship with the Rev. Dr. Rick Lowery will be held Tuesday, Aug. 17 from 9 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. at Christian Theological Seminary, Room 166, 1000 West 42nd Street, Indianapolis, IN 46208.
Lowery will explore the Hebrew Bible lectionary for Advent, Christmas and Epiphany in the coming year, reflecting in light of ancient social, economic, and political contexts on God’s irrepressible mission of healing a broken world. Lowery is affiliated professor of Hebrew Bible at Phillips Theological Seminary and adjunct professor at Lexington Theological Seminary. Wesleyan Connexion Project present noted Wesleyan theologian at UIndy, Oct. 19
“Treasures of Renewal” with William J. Abraham of Southern Methodist University
Wesleyan Theological Forum – This event will focus on the treasures of Methodism for the renewal of the church’s mission. Professor Abraham will kick off our first Theological Forum that will foster ongoing conversation and action regarding the Wesleyan way of discipleship.
