Indiana Conference Mission Volunteers Resource team offers leader training workshop

United Methodist Committee on Relief Trainer Penny Krug, will lead a Volunteers In Mission Team Leader Training event on Saturday, May 22, from 9 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. (ET) at Northwest United Methodist Church, 21855 Brick Road in South Bend, Ind. This training is for leaders and/or participants of work teams and youth leaders.

The cost is $7 per person plus $25 for VIM Training Manual (only 1 needed per church). Please bring a sack lunch. Topics include: How to plan a mission trip, where to go when your church wants to send a team, spiritual enrichment, being a team member, cultural sensitivity, insurance and liability forms regardless of where you go, issues of risk, and answers to questions. Registration deadline is May 15.

Green Congregations sponsoring day-long workshop for green ministry June 5

Indianapolis Green Congregations is sponsoring a day-long workshop on Saturday, June 5 to provide tools and inspiration for your green ministry. The workshop will be held at Christian Theological Seminary in Indianapolis from 8:30 a.m. to 3 p.m. Featured speakers will be: Scott Russell Sanders, author of A Conservationist Manifesto and Luke Gascho, Goshen College and president of Hoosier Interfaith Power and Light. All faith-based groups in Indiana are welcome and encouraged to attend this annual event. Conference announces workshop for youth, young adults interested in vocation of ministry

Exploring Ministry, a retreat for exploring God’s call in the vocation of ministry for those who have finished their junior year in high school, will be held Saturday, June 26 from 9:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. at the University of Indianapolis. There is no charge for this event. For registration or information, direct calls to Brenda Gross at extension 1040. Overnight lodging is available on Friday, June 25 for $50. Friends of Africa University to hold breakfast at Annual Conference

Friends of Africa University plan to hold a breakfast meeting on Saturday, June 12 at 7a.m. during the Indiana Annual Conference at Ball State University in Muncie. Tickets are $7. If you are not a member of annual conference but can come for the breakfast, please call 877-781-6706 to reserve your ticket/s. The Rev. Glen Robyne of the Wesley Foundation at Purdue will be the speaker. He and a group of students will just have returned from three weeks in Zimbabwe, especially spending time at Africa University.
