UIndy is providing the streaming video coverage as a service to the public, as well as graduates and family and friends who are unable to attend the 2 p.m. Saturday, May 1 event in Nicoson Hall. The university’s 2010 graduates, including those at UIndy’s international program sites, hail from 28 states and 23 nations, with international students accounting for 23 percent of the total. The video feed will be available for viewing in Windows Media format at www.uindy.edu/webcast. A recording of the ceremony will be available on that same page for 90 days afterward.

The purpose of the Rejuvenate Project is to strengthen the quality of pastoral leadership and enhance the vitality of Indiana United Methodist congregations. Using experimental and systematic approaches that reflect United Methodist-Wesleyan financial teachings, Rejuvenate develops financial, intellectual, spiritual and institutional resources to alleviate the financial burdens of pastors, which adversely affect pastoral performance.
Rejuvenate has partnered with the Rev. Dr. William Enright, a national speaker and executive director of The Lake Institute on Faith and Giving, to assist us with fulfilling our purpose.
Next fall, Enright will conduct a four-night seminar for congregations and clergy who want to enhance the vitality of their congregations by becoming generous congregations. The workshop, titled “Creating Congregational Cultures of Generosity,” will be held Sept. 13-16 from 6 to 9 p.m. at the Irvington United Methodist Church, 30 North Audubon Road, Indianapolis, IN 46219. Register by calling Lisa at the Indiana Conference Center at 317-924-1321 or toll-free at 877-781-6706.
Building a Good Foundation – An In-Depth Learning Program
June-October in Indianapolis
This three-part program prepares congregational leadership, staff and lay leaders to understand the stages of assessment, planning and implementation for a congregational building program. Central Indiana leaders will learn how to evaluate their congregations’ facilities and how they hinder or help the effectiveness of their ministries. Led by Keith Crouch and Russell Maddox of the National Center for Church Architecture, Building a Good Foundation is designed to help your congregation deliberate and plan for a building project before the first brick is put in place. The annual Bishop’s Confirmation Rally date for 2011 has been set for Saturday, March 12 at a place yet to be announced. This is a slight change from the typical date which has been the first Saturday of March. The reason for this change in 2011 is twofold: there is a large conference for youth workers being held in the Chicago area on March 5, which might draw away many of our local church youth workers on that date and the Our Life Together Retreat for our clergy will be Feb. 28-March 1, which is just a few days ahead of March 5.
Please note this date change to March 12 and plan on bringing your youth and youth leaders to the Bishop’s Confirmation Rally. This event keeps growing in numbers with 600 in attendance this year, so we hope that providing this date early will help everyone plan ahead for 2011.
