We believe Emerging Leaders are the Church of TODAY and TOMORROW. Emerging Leaders are not just our future Church they are the Church RIGHT NOW.
Emerging Leaders are called by God to live out God’s mission in the Church and world today and in the days to come.
The Indiana Conference is committed to having an Emerging Leaders Team that consists of young people and the leaders who support them. The team exists to provide resources, engagement, and equipping opportunities throughout the conference to emerging leaders, supporting leaders and the local church. We seek to discover, develop and deploy emerging leaders to serve in the conference, district, local church, community and the world.
Emerging leaders and their supporting leaders are the most important investment any church can make today.

What are Leadership Labs?

Finding Your Spark
2 Timothy 1:6-10 (The Message)
“And the special gift of ministry you received when I laid hands on you and prayed—keep that ablaze! God doesn’t want us to be shy with his gifts, but bold and loving and sensible. So don’t be embarrassed to speak up for our Master or for me, his prisoner. Take your share of suffering for the Message along with the rest of us. We can only keep on going, after all, by the power of God, who first saved us and then called us to this holy work. We had nothing to do with it. It was all his idea, a gift prepared for us in Jesus long before we knew anything about it. But we know it now. Since the appearance of our Savior, nothing could be plainer: death defeated, life vindicated in a steady blaze of light, all through the work of Jesus.”
- Ignite – Calling
Each person is called. What are your gifts and passions? Where is God calling you to join Him in His work? In your neighborhood, in the local school, through an underdeveloped idea you have in your mind? Maybe you have questions about your calling and now is the time to explore it further. Maybe you know you’re called to something more and you just haven’t been able to figure out how to take the next step. Join a small community of others who are seeking to grow in their capacity for God’s work in the world. Ask questions, support and challenge each other, and pursue God’s direction for your leadership.
2. Flame - Saying Yes – Saying No
Saying Yes to God can seem wonderful and scary all at the same time. Many of his prophets had a hard time saying yes. They had excuses and weaknesses that they offered up instead of their Yes. What about you? Where is it hard to say Yes to God as a leader? What might happen if you were willing to say Yes? If saying Yes is important, what about saying no? When do we need to say no because we have already said yes too many times? Join your cohort of other leaders in considering the fears that keep you from saying yes (or no) and the possibilities of how yes (or no) could change you and others around you.
3. Fire - Servant Leadership
Jesus was a servant leader who washed the feet of Judas. The church, our world, young people - they all need a leader who understands humility and courage. If we are going to say Yes to our callings we will face difficulty. We must love and lead difficult people. What does it mean to face failure and be brave? Join your cohort in addressing the realities of serving as a leader and embracing the resolution that it will take to walk through the fires and be the servant leader God has designed for you to be right now.
4. Burn – Go!
Jesus tells us to go! When you are set on fire to do the work of God there is no stopping you – you must go! Where might you go? Next door? Out of your comfort zone? Into the pastor’s office? Your go will look different than others but it is important that you go because it is in the going that others start to see and experience the spark of God. There is no doubt you can impact others for Christ if you go. Join your cohort in sending each other out empowered to go into the areas of ministry and leadership that God has set before you.
