Growing Disciples, Strengthening the Church
WE WANT TO PARTNER WITH YOU TO
MAKE DISCIPLES OF JESUS CHRIST FOR THE TRANSFORMATION OF THE WORLD.
Our Philosophy: Back to Basics - Reclaiming Our Roots of Faith
Back to Basics is a movement focusing on the most foundational principles of our faith. It’s time to reclaim the simplicity of Christ and find the beautiful complexity of being a disciple.
We believe it is time to go back to the basics of faith formation to be more fruitful in our efforts to BE and MAKE disciples, and we want to partner with you - to journey alongside you - to make this happen!
Discipleship Development can offer resources of how we can all work together to make and strengthen disciples through special programs, events, and conversations.
While we have crafted several opportunities to get the conversation started, we want you to know that we believe YOU are an important component to the resources we will offer in the future. We have a “Smart Resource” plan in place to provide resources that meet the needs of INUMC congregations - these will be resources you ask for.
Join us as we rediscover the love that started it all. We can’t wait to see what God will do through these conversations, events and resources that we do TOGETHER!
In addition to the Indiana Conference Discipleship Development Team, as part of a global denomination, Indiana United Methodist congregations can take advantage of many resources created through conference tithes and offerings to the General Church. Discipleship Ministries helps local church, district, and conference leaders fulfill the shared dream of making world-changing disciples. The agency connects leaders with needed resourcing, training, consulting, and networking that support spiritual formation, new church development, and revitalization of local churches.
Discipleship Ministries has long provided resources in the areas of Christian education, worship, music, evangelism, new church development, stewardship, funding and financial management, lay leadership development, age-level (children, youth, adult) and family ministries, small-group ministries, ethnic local church concerns, devotional life, spiritual formation, and other areas related to the lives of people and the ministries of congregations. Many of these resources are available as FREE downloads here.
