Conference now accepting nominations for 2012 Harry Denman Evangelism Award
The Indiana United Methodist Annual Conference is now accepting nominations for the Harry Denman Evangelism Award for United Methodist Clergy, Laity and Youth. The Harry Denman Evangelism Award recognizes a person whose life and ministry exemplifies the teaching of Christ and the Great Commission. This can involve personal witnessing, speaking, and inspiring individual persons or the local church to be actively involved helping people to experience the transforming love of God through Jesus Christ. Neither the size of the local church with which the person is affiliated, the age or gender of the person, nor length of service should limit one’s eligibility. What is important are the people whose lives have been changed by the life and ministry of the nominee. Recipients of these awards, nominated by individuals, churches or districts, and selected by the Indiana Annual Conference, live their call to “Offer Them Christ” daily as modeled by Dr. Harry Denman, founder of The Foundation for Evangelism that sponsors these awards.
The recipients have exhibited outstanding efforts in Wesleyan evangelism by faithfully carrying out the mission of “making disciples of Jesus Christ for the transformation of the world.”
