Outdoor Concert Series & Community Fair

These free concerts will feature different music each week, June 4, 11, 18, 25 and July 2, from a variety of musicians. The concerts will go on rain or shine (will move to sanctuary if it rains), but the fair will be weather-permitting. The fair will have food trucks, vendors, a bounce house and other fun! Castleton UMC

African Choral Festival

Dr. John Perkins, Director of Music at Castleton United Methodist is inviting the Central District to come together with our congregation on Saturday, June 10, from 2-5:30pm to enjoy a time of Congolese Choral singing, food and fellowship. The CUMC choir along with choirs from Grace Tabernacle Ministries (a congregation of mostly Congolese refugee’s) and others, who would like to sing, will combine to sing worship and choral music.

The schedule is as follows:

2-3pm Choirs and friends rehearse in the CUMC Sanctuary.

3-4pm Fellowship Time with Congolese and American foods.

4-5:30pm Worship and Singing, Rev. Justin Biragane and Rev. Emmanuel Musinga will speak about refugee ministries.

9th Annual Strawberry Festival and BBQ

Lawrence UMC, 5200 N. Shadeland Ave. on the northeast side of Indy, is hosting its 9th Annual Strawberry Festival and BBQ on June 16 and June 17. Serving times each day are 11am-8pm. Come and enjoy homemade strawberry shortcake and pie (with or without ice cream), secret recipe BBQ pulled pork and chicken, hot dogs and brats with homemade coney sauce, fries, baked beans, mac & cheese, and cole slaw. Southport UMC

Southport United Methodist Church is looking to fill a full-time position of Student Ministry Director.  This position will be responsible for all student-related activities associated with students inside the church as well as making connections and building relationships with students that as of yet do not have a relationship with Jesus.  The primary mission of this position is to “make disciples of Jesus.”  This includes:

  • Sunday morning for Middle School and High School Students
  • Sunday morning for children 3rd – 6th grade
  • Weekly youth group for Middle School and High School Students
  • Partnering with Youth for Christ to make connections with students that don’t have a relationship with Jesus
  • Other activities held throughout the year for the purposes of helping the students in “going on” toward Christlikeness as they further their discipleship.

Qualified candidates will have a proven track record in the following:

  • Creating strong, trusting and respectful relationships with students as their faith leader (including those that are already following Jesus as well as those that presently are not following Jesus)
  • Creating strong relationships with parents in order to partner with them in developing strong faith on the part of the students
  • Developing other adult leaders to assist in Student Ministry with a unified mission for Student Ministry of “making disciples of Jesus Christ”
  • Working together with other areas of the church to accomplish the church’s mission and vision, breaking down “silos” within the various areas of the church as appropriate
  • Developing and following through on age-appropriate teaching plans that emphasize discipleship
  • Planning an entire Student Ministry year that has various activities that seamlessly work together for the singular mission of “making disciples of Jesus”

Mt Auburn UMC

The Director of Worship Technologies prepares and implements all audio and visual components for Sunday morning services and all other church events. This position also oversees the setup and tear-down of the audio-visual equipment and works with the worship planning team and prepares projection slides.

Preschool Director/Lead Teacher

Old Bethel Preschool & Daycare is a ministry of Old Bethel United Methodist Church and is registered with the State of Indiana. The Director at Old Bethel Preschool & Daycare will oversee the day to day operations of the preschool and daycare in order to fill its philosophy and mission. In addition to this the Director will teach some classes as the lead teacher and will be responsible for carrying out curriculum.


-21 years of age or older

-Bachelor’s degree in Early Childhood Education or Elementary Education with a kindergarten endorsement OR

-Bachelor’s degree with 15 credit hours in Early Childhood Education OR

-Bachelor’s degree with a CDA OR

-Associate’s degree in Early Childhood Education and 3 years of experience in an early childhood program

-Must have previous management experience and at least 1 year of experience working in a licensed childcare facility.

-Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint

-Bilingual, preferable

-Ability to communicate and work with people from a variety of socio-economical, racial, ethnic, religious and political backgrounds, beliefs, and practices.

-Willingness to attend staff meetings, board meetings, and Administrative Council meetings        

-Must pass a criminal history check, drug test, and have a valid Indiana Driver’s License.

-Understands the importance of the preschool and the local church partnering together in ministry

-Understanding of and observance of State Board of Health rules and those of the Family and Social Services Administration

-Be a team player who establishes positive, respectful and professional relationships with children, parents, colleagues, church members, church staff, and the childcare community

-Communicates in a clear, friendly, professional, proactive, and Christian manner

-Able to guide/drive change

-Core understanding of the Christian faith and a personal relationship with Jesus Christ

Crawforsdsville First UMC

First United Methodist Church is located in the historic town of Crawfordsville, IN. The church is seeking a full-time Director of Youth Ministry and Contemporary Worship to oversee two ministries – youth ministry and contemporary worship. It is understood that there will be times where time and energy will be given to one ministry over another ministry but that it will balance itself out in the end.

As the Director of the Youth Ministry, this person shall seek to foster Christian community through building relationships with young people in grades 6 through 12 that strengthen their commitment to the church and growth in faith in Jesus Christ. The youth ministry team includes weekly volunteers as well as the Youth Advisory Board. The program is comprised of Youth Group, including small group breakouts, special events, Sunday morning youth education, and service opportunities.

As the Contemporary Worship Coordinator, s/he will be the “producer” of each Gathering worship service and special programs. This involves working collaboratively and mentoring worship leaders as well as the worship band.

The ideal candidates will have a deep and living relationship with Jesus Christ, a call to minister to youth, gifts in leadership and vision, musical ability to lead worship with an instrument, a Bachelor’s degree and two years of volunteer or paid youth ministry experience.

  • Preschool Director Position

Christ Indianapolis United Methodist Church is seeking a preschool director for their weekday ministry. Applicant must meet the following criteria: Shall be a practicing member in good standing with a Christian church, preferred that  applicant be an active member of Christ Indianapolis United Methodist Church; must be at least 21 years of age; must have at least two years of experience in a preschool setting. Applicant must also hold CDA certification or be willing to work toward one within first year, as program is seeking Paths to Quality ratings. Experience in administrative and management skills is required as well as competent computer skills. This is a part time position at approximately 26 hours per week at $15.00 an hour.

The Office Assistant acts as the first point of contact for guests and callers and alerts others of security issues while also undertaking a variety of other administrative tasks.   As the first point of contact, the office assistant will connect with each person entering the church and interact with each ministry area and work together to fulfill the mission of making disciples of Jesus Christ for the transformation of the world.
